Life member, Albert Smith, actively attends the Aggregate Meet to run the Two hundred metre Individual medley race(200m IM) held in his name.

The Club was honoured to have Albert, and his wife Kath, attend the presentation evening held on the 4th of December, to personally present the  A E Smith Trophy to the 2009 winner, Danielle Alger.

Albert, (in conjunction with Rosemary Cullinan), has also co-authored the book titled "From the Creek to the Dome. Lilydale Swimming Club 1903 -2003". The book meticulously chronicles the history of the Club. This book is both very interesting and inspiring to read!
